Media Press Release
Cornwall Ontario Canada - The Professional Development TSCM Group Inc.,
and the Technical Security Branch (TSB) are
pleased to announce the 5th annual three (3) day, Canadian
Technical Security Conference (CTSC).
| Monday April
19 | Tuesday April 20 | Wednesday April 21, 2009 |
CTSC 2010 is primarily sponsored by Professional
Development TSCM Group Inc., and the
Technical Security Branch (TSB). Various components of the annual event
are also supported by a number of industry related corporate
sponsors.
Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), Technical
Security (TS) and Communication Security (COMSEC), are perhaps the fastest changing industries from a technological point of view,
as technology advancements and new hostile threats such as terrorism and
economic espionage have emerged and are identified on a daily
basis.
On another level the speed that once previous government / military level technology is seen to hit the
consumer market; oftentimes within weeks or months; rather than the many years, as
observed in the past has created an entire new level of hostile technological
threats to the security posture of nearly every business and individual
in Canada.
The TSB recognized this problem nearly twenty-five
(25) years ago and has been actively engaged in the development of both
operational and advanced training research and development activities
that have lead to the creation and development of the Canadian Technical
Security Conference (CTSC) event.
Our annual event
serves two (2) primary objectives by providing an educational component
of professional skills development, and secondly by providing a
networking opportunity for professional TSCM operators, equipment
manufacturers, and the end user clients that are responsible for
implementing formal Technical Security, Communication Security (COMSEC),
and Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) programs within the
private sector, corporate or government sector they represent.
Why Are We Organizing This Conference?
Currently, there are no other (annual) non-government
Technical Security (TS) related conferences of this level and specific focus
available here in Canada.
There is a wide range of TSCM practitioners,
business entities, organizations, and individuals, with widely varying
degrees of skill and experience levels, that would clearly benefit from
a professional development opportunity of this nature.
Industrial
Espionage, Technological Terrorism, Identity Theft, Domestic and Foreign
Intelligence Gathering, Competitive Intelligence, and Technological
Crimes of all descriptions, are often the direct result of the
intentional and / or unintentional compromise of sensitive business,
corporate, government, military, and personal information.
CTSC 2010 is a
conference not to be missed and has something for everyone concerned with Technical
Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM).
Who Should Attend?
The Canadian Technical Security Conference (CTSC)
by design will appeal to a wide range of Technical Surveillance
Countermeasures (TSCM) and Technical Security related interests.

tasked with protecting information resources, and those providing
professional TSCM / Counter-Intelligence (CI) related services should

Conference Format
The 5th annual Canadian Technical
Security Conference (CTSC) includes three (3) days and
commands a
wide range of Educational Professional Development Seminars (EPDS), a TSCM
Technical Skills Workshop, TSCM Trade Show of Equipment Manufacturers,
and professional services providers exhibits, and our popular
(competitive) "Bug-off" for participants that
wish to experience a wide range of TSCM equipment resources, and compete for a awards, prizes, and bragging rights.
There is just one (1) training track to allow maximum participation
in a professional development program that is meaningful and relevant.
No matter whether
participants are entry-level or seasoned professionals, our conference
program has something for everyone.
Dinner and Awards Night:
The CTSC committee has
arranged a dinner and awards night (casual) on the second day of the
conference.
Our dinner and awards night includes a Key Note Speaker and
is a an excellent opportunity to network with like-minded colleagues.
Conference Theme
It is difficult to narrow the conference theme to
any one (1) specific area of the industry. Our objective in
developing
the CTSC is to consider the widest possible scope and include as many
key industry subject areas as is possible in a three (3) day conference format of
this nature.
Professional Skills Development is perhaps the most
important theme of our conference and will dominate the
agenda during future conferences as well.
Professional Standards with
respect to TSCM Equipment Resources, Professional TSCM
Services and Advanced TSCM Certification Training are all important
elements to consider.
In a world that is
currently threatened by the potential of global terrorism and
considerable technologically based crime, the Technical Security
Specialist (TSS) has never been as important as he / she is in the world of
today.
TSCM industry professionals that are tasked with securing critical
information for key private sector, corporate, government, and military resources, are
essential to preventing a serious technological compromise.
Networking Opportunity
Networking is always a primary consideration when
determining whether or not to attend a particular trade oriented
conference. Our theme and focus on the educational component and
professional skills development, cannot happen in a vacuum. Networking
is the key to meeting these important aims, goals, and objectives.
This
unique opportunity to network with a dedicated group of Technical
Security (TS) professionals, exhibitors, government agency personnel, private
sector TSCM service providers, and a variety of end user clients will
ensure that our objectives are met during the conference.
It is
interesting to note that no matter whether you are a seasoned
professional or relatively new to the TSCM industry, everyone has
something to pass on to others. Networking allows for an excellent
learning environment.
We hope you will join us for the 5th annual
Canadian Technical Security Conference and find out what
you are missing by working within the "covert vacuum" of the industry.
