Receiver Differential Signal Analysis (RDSA) TM | Powerful Innovation Delivered!

The official release of the latest Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software (v1.36xx) is now undergoing final testing at our Red Deer Alberta lab, and will soon be ready for official release.

Receiver Differential Signal Analysis (RDSA) TM was officially demonstrated during a recent operator certification program for the first time, and was well received as a powerful, first in its class feature.

Multiple locations, multiple receivers, multiple spectrum overlay, as displayed below, illustrates the ability to view live spectrum from multiple receivers on the same display, rendering typical single receiver spectrum analyzers obsolete, and generally unable to cope with today's complex threat environment.

RDSA | Kestrel TSCM | TSCM PROFESSIONAL SOFTWARE

The light blue overlay above, on the left side of the display, represents the FM broadcast band against a full band 6 GHz Range of Interest (ROI) along with a green overlay, representing the ISM 2400 band, on the right side of the display.

See the zoom window expanded below to display the comparative spectra.

Now you can display bands, sub-bands, channels, and signal level spectra, as a multi-layer overlay for the Peak Envelope Capture (PEC) TM , Spectrum Average Trace (SAT) TM , and Real-Time Event (RTE) TM trace, as a direct comparative across any supported receiver, or spectrum analyzer.

Operator defined spectrum overlay can include the entire Range of Interest (ROI), or any other portion of the spectrum for unlimited combinations.

Looking to determine whether or not a Signal of Interest (SOI), is external, or facility level, no problem, simply overlay the independent antenna location data, and view real-time, averaging, and peak spectrum from any number of assigned receiver locations.

The image below represented by the purple trace, defines the FM broadcast band external to the facility, and the light blue represents the FM band as observed within the facility.

Kestrel TSCM Professional Software

RDSA TM by design, breaks the location barrier, and brings powerful new functionality to the dual and multiple receiver innovation that the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is purposefully designed, and opens the door for advanced capability, including geo-location and direction-finding tasks.

Kestrel ® continues to deliver new innovation, and first in its class features and functionality that defy industry limitations.

Kestrel ® delivers solutions for challenges without solutions, and tackles real-world problems for professional technical operators who are tasked with complex deployment requirements worldwide.

As the current year blurs into 2018, our development work is being accelerated to bring a massive wave of new, first in its class features for release in v1.36xx and v1.37xx leading up to the 13th annual Canadian Technical Security Conference (CTSC 2018) in April 2018.

Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software | It all Started with Disappointment!

We have all been there, patiently waiting and anticipating the latest and greatest technology in one way or another, whether it be new stereo system.

For the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, it was the promise of new technology of the day, ready to meet the challenges of a new and developing, modern moving target threat model.

Unfortunately disappointment, limitations and lack of essential core features became the reality of the day.

The idea and concept of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software was simply a proud conceptual rendering, that soon became a proof of concept, that soon became a working software application called the Genesis TSCM TM Software in mid 2009.

That simple proof of concept software application paved the way for a powerful, entirely new technology innovation, firmly based on fast developing principles, and acceptance of Software Defined Radio (SDR), within the TSCM industry.

The obsolescence factor soon became painfully evident across the industry as several manufacturers struggled to compete for a monopoly of sorts, that did little more than become a viscous competitive circle, seeing little attention to emerging threats, and the vulnerabilities of out dated deployment concepts, as well as the assumption that anyone can do technical inspections, perpetuated by many of the spy supply shops.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software concept was possible due to the release of the Signal Hound SA44B Spectrum Analyzer and Measuring Receiver in 2009, and became the hardware technology that would pave a new path for the private sector, and ultimately, the public sector TSCM industry, now superseded by extremely powerful SDR hardware, such as the Signal Hound BB60C Spectrum Analyzer and RF Recorder, and early in the new year, the all powerful SM200A Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer and Monitoring Receiver, opening the door for the progressive new Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, to build Tomorrow's Software - Today!

The missing element has always been the lack of operator consultation and focus, as many of the major players place all their efforts into sell, sell, sell, and lose sight of the threat technology, and the powerful state sponsored threat technology, and the real-world requirements of professional private and public sector end-users.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software defines and fills this gap, by cutting through the spectral density, so to speak, and delivering powerful experienced based resources, at a realistic cost of ownership, for a full featured Signal Intelligence Support System (SISS) TM platform.

The concepts of the 1970's are no longer valid in 2017, just like they were no longer valid in 2009, when Kestrel ® transitioned from a powerful working concept, to reality, with a proven track record spanning 9 years, as we journey into 2018.

Professional Development TSCM Group has seen every ethically questionable method and technique being used by some industry players and want-a-be competition, during the past few years, as the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software has continued to rise in popularity, and gain a well deserved reputation, with a focus on an operator centric approach, and more importantly, our ability to deliver new innovation on a consistent and regular basis.

PDTG is developing the next generation methods an techniques at the software level, based on, not only today's threat technology, but rather we are firmly focused on the future, developing features, functionality, and a powerful new methodology that will become the standard, 5 years, 10 years down the road, as our moving target threat level continues to evolve.

Kestrel ® is a forward looking threat technology diverse reality, and not an industry complacent "as is", is good, lets sell it, product.

Since Kestrel sells itself, we have more time for the real task at hand, technology and methodology development.

It is not always about engineering, it is about identifying and delivering real world technology for use by professionals, as TSCM is not a do it your self job, whether it be an individual, corporate security team, or government entities, it is essential that the resources, training, and methodology all compliment the goal of strengthening a collective national security whether in North America, or Europe, and not weaken it with out-dated concepts and sales pitches, often to the uniformed procurement teams, that lack the necessary technical experience to understand the differences.

The true indicator of success, is watching the competition globally, continue to minimize the impact of Kestrel ®, while integrating our ideas and concepts, in a "me too" effort to compete, and making business decisions that have become all to obvious to our collective pool of potential customers, as little more than high pressure sales.

My personal view has allows been that it is a big industry and there is plenty of opportunity for everyone, unfortunately, this is not a shared believe, as evident by those that are so threatened by competition.

Sorry people, 2018 is going to be another defining year for Kestrel ® innovation, and powerful new capability, we have not run out of ideas yet, with more that 1000 active development cases currently in the works.
Kestrel | TSCM Professional Software
As, Izzy (the Kestrel), Andrzej, Don, Carlo, Carol, Helen, and myself wind down a very successful 2017, and move at the speed of light into 2018, Kestrel ® will continue to develop meaningful and powerful new detection strategies, and methodologies, and incorporate the best possible features and functionality, at the lowest possible price point, as a 100% developed in Canada solution, being sold in 29 countries worldwide for professional use.

Our technology team wishes you a safe and happy holiday, for you and your family around the globe.

The competitive threat of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, is becoming obvious, as we see our original ideas, concepts, and wording being used on other websites.

Don't be fooled by copycat competitive product websites that simply cut and paste key wording, our use key branding concepts to describe want-a-be competitive products.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is a fresh, original, and innovative approach, based on the TSB (Technical) Standard TM and experienced technical operators, and a very strong development, and engineering group.

Kestrel ® is 100% Canadian developed, and source code controlled, with no foreign, or off shore development, bringing powerful advanced features and innovative functionality to professional technical operators.

In short, we are the competition! Buy smart, by original, and avoid the dangers of foreign off shore software products that mimic the mighty Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software.

Kestrel ® has become the leading industry TSCM software, with a powerful standards based platform, based on a modern moving target threat model and deployment methodology.

There are many players in the industry who lack any originality, and find it necessary to latch on to anything to try and compete, including the use of unethical means to fool and mislead potential customers.

If you find our concepts, wording, branding, and / or innovation on other websites, we suggest you move on, and not waste your time on people who don't have any respect for your intelligence, and lack any originality, or confidence in their own products.

The Kestrel ® brand means integrity, ethical sales, security, and 100% developed in Canada, product innovation that is designed as Tomorrows Software - Today.

MILIPOL 2017 | Conclusion

MILIPOL 2017 was a tremendous success for Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., this past week, in further building the Kestrel ® brand recognition globally.

We were very pleased with the number of new and known user, delegates that visited our exhibit for a detailed demonstration of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software.

Our persistence in educating technical operators, end-users, and procurement managers about what to look for when purchasing TSCM equipment is finally taking hold, any many thanked us for our straight-forward approach in explaining Kestrel ® , and its suitability for their specific application, looking beyond the marketing hype, and looking for the details that are often not disclosed. In-fact some manufacturers, provide so little in the way of information, I am surprised sometimes that they sell anything at all.

We are still seeing glaring omissions, misrepresentations, and other potentially misleading information, being provided by sales representatives, and in many cases, by people with no direct experience in actually deploying competing technologies, in the wild.

Potential end-users, and technical operators are starting to ask the right questions about specifications, and more importantly, questioning the totally obsolete methodology proposed by those with little, or no, current operational experience in defensive technical counter-measures, and are starting to see the light, when it comes to believing that a law-enforcement, or military background, automatically qualify them to provide the final word on TSCM and RSSM TM subject matter.

Sales and marketing only get you so far, delivering modern innovation is key.

The best, and sad, part is that the more the competition talks, and directs people away from Kestrel ®, the better business gets, for Professional Development TSCM Group Inc. We have seen this over and over during the past decade, where the competition spends more time and effort worrying about the competition, than engaging in business opportunities.

The industry is massive, and the opportunities are endless. When end-users see the Kestrel ® software for the first time, they often remark about what they were told by some competitive product sales person. This is certainly discouraging, but our approach is to dispel the misleading information with qualified and quantified facts. Yes, another, lost opportunity for the competition, and other sale of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software Signal Intelligence Support System (SISS) TM.

KESTREL SALES REACH NEW HIGH

Sometimes it seems that the competition is our best sales referral...

With a significant market share globally, Kestrel ® is leading the way to a greater understanding and acceptance of a modern moving target threat model and deployment approach methodology, in the eyes of the end-user, as outlined within the TSB 2000 (Technical) Standard TM, developed as the core development methodology of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software.

MILIPOL 2017

It was another busy two days for our team at  MILIPOL 2017 in Paris France, as the momentum continues to build with many asking us why Kestrel ® is better than other similar resources from any number of manufacturers and software developers.

In the past, we have been somewhat reluctant to make any comparison between other products and our own, however, we have decided it is in the best interest of those expressing interest in our products to make a fair and comprehensive capability and feature comparative, when asked do do so by prospective customers.

There is so much misleading, incomplete, and inaccurate information available to potential customers, which is being cleverly marketed, in support of advancing sales, that many potential customers are coming to us for straight-forward, talk about the best deployment methodology and equipment resources.

For example, when questions arise, we ask a simple question in return, "how do you use the equipment" for whatever the particular question called for. The results are often bewildering, and very telling, but leads to a meaningful conversation based on actual field experience and deployment challenges, and then and discussion about the equipment utilized.

Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., saw a significant increase in visitors from various government, military, and the private sector TSCM community this past week, with all very pleased about the current state of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, and the game changing standards of the Signal Hound SM200A Spectrum Monitoring receiver hardware, to be released January 15, 2017.

At the end of the 3rd day, additional internationally coordinated training opportunities were identified and set in motion for a number of government and military entities across Europe and other regions.

The demand for Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software training has significantly increased given the large number of professional level technical operators, who understand and see through the marketing hype out there, and new technical deployment standards, within a modern moving target threat model, globally.

Decision makers and technical operators, need to understand that both TSCM equipment resources and deployment methodology, have significantly advanced over the past decade, as new innovation detection strategies, and unfortunately, new persistent threats have appeared, demanding a change in direction, with the implementation of powerful new ideas, and modern technology solutions.

KESTREL INNOVATION | TSCM
I have heard the above phrase a number of times during the past few years, and at the surprise of many, to find we succeeded in delivering innovative milestones.

It is this very concept that has placed the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software at the leading edge of the TSCM and spectrum monitoring industry worldwide.

At PDTG Inc., we are not afraid of competition, nor do we accept the "no can do" mentality of industry standards and continue to advance affirmative change.

PDTG Inc., continues to push ahead with powerful new ideas, that "have never been done before".

The opportunity to demonstrate to the many end-users that utilize the advanced capability of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, and discuss the powerful advantages, have made a significant impact on the decision of many, to finally move to Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology.

This powerful trend, provides new opportunities for corporate, government, law-enforcement, and military operators deploying unique technology and dedicated, up to date software features, and look at the spectrum and other relevant data, the way it was meant to be viewed.

Many operators are surprised to learn that our Software Development Group (SDG) has close to 2000 new features and functionality implementation cases actively in process.

PDTG Inc., is continuing research and development efforts, on the present and future threats of state sponsored economic espionage, homeland security concerns, and perhaps most importantly, supporting the national security apparatus.

It takes powerful insight and dedication, of more than a quarter century of learning and building real-world experience within the TSCM community, to effectively alter the path, role, and direction, of the TSCM community.

PDTG Inc., is doing just that, one end-user at a time.

The change is becoming evident, and picking up steam, as more and more operators are getting on-board, and finally seeing the competitive marketing hype for what it is, and looking at real hardware specifications, real receiver speeds, and real world deployment factors, ignoring the "me too" attempts to compete.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is a powerful standards based, Software Defined Radio (SDR) application that significantly enhances TSCM and SIGINT applications and end-user requirements, bringing with it a new and modern technical standard, and a powerful deployment methodology, to the industry.

The Kestrel ® TSCM Professional Software is a professional resource that places the technical operator back in command of the mission based collection and analytical process.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is competitively priced at just $3,495.00 CAD, and currently supports hardware options starting at just $1,375.00 CAD, minimizing any argument for procuring this powerful, and innovative, award winning TSCM specific SDR application.

I have been asked several times during the past week, why our software is so reasonably priced? My response is simply, if you want to pay more, we can certainly arrange to charge you whatever amount you want to pay, above reasonable!

Our concept is delivering the best value for the most powerful features and functionality, and that are operator centric.

Many of the newly commissioned Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software programs are end-user, closed door sessions and scheduled to run at a number of international end-user specific venues leading up to the end of 2017 and well into the 2018 training year.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is a powerful standards based, Software Defined Radio (SDR) application that has taken the TSCM and SIGINT industry by storm globally, bringing an entirely new modern technical standard, and deployment methodology to the industry.

MOVING TARGET THREAT MODEL | TSCM

In a moving target threat model, the technical resources, technical approach, and technical operator, all must advance to meet today's real-world operational threat profile, wishful thinking and denial with simply place the end-user in a position of liability and the client at risk of a technical compromise, hoping something magical just happens.

All operators will agree that threat technology has changed dramatically, during the past decade, but most also will admit that the threat detection technology has not kept pace, with a developing, ever complex threat model.

The Kestrel ® TSCM Professional Software is a professional resource that places the technical operator back in command of the collection and analytical process.

If you have been putting off Certified Technical Operator (CTO) training, the enhanced schedule for 2018, provides an opportunity for you to attend this essential training.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software means new and recurring revenue streams, and a significantly lower cost of ownership, enhanced competency during field deployment, and the technical operator will realize a higher Probability of Detection (POD) across the board.

Training extends your professional credibility!

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is competitively priced at just $3,495.00 CAD, and currently supports hardware options starting at just $1,375.00 CAD, minimizing any argument for procuring this powerful, and innovative, award winning TSCM specific SDR application.

ISC EAST 2017 | Opening the Eyes of Technical Operators One at a Time!

Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., exhibited at ISC East 2017 for the first time this past week, and was pleased with the show attendance, and the considerable traffic at our exhibit.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is a powerful standards based, Software Defined Radio (SDR) application that has taken the TSCM and SIGINT industry by storm worldwide, bringing with it an entirely new modern technical standard, and deployment methodology.

While many within the industry still don't get it, the threat model has changed, and obsolete methods and techniques no longer meet an acceptable level of due diligence, or in any way meet today's moving target threat model, in the corporate world, or at the national security level.

Kestrel TSCM Professional Software | Standards Based SDR Platform

The business model, like everything else in a globally connected world has significantly changed, but unfortunately, many manufacturers, big and small, continue to employ the same tired and obsolete practices, and simply are unwilling to look beyond current competitive strategies, rather than get with the program and deliver technology of the future, rather than that of the past.

Kestrel ® is a professional resource that places the technical operator back in command of the collection and analytical process. TSCM is not, and never was a function for the uninitiated, and untrained, with limited experience, who deploy an easy to turn-on, easy to operate spectrum analyzer for RF work, deployed for a few hours a couple of times a year.

The espionage trade-craft faced by today's technical operator requires powerful Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms that enhance and complement the national security profile, across any number of countries in a coordinated effort to detect, identify, and neutralize hostile Technical Security Devices (TSD), and a new breed of power agile smart technology, including unintentional radiators that are deployed with significant sophistication, and simply cannot be detected by obsolete techniques and many of today's equipment resources.

The dangers of deploying foreign controlled software and equipment should be obvious, but becomes an attractive spy supply tool for those that are looking for a quick do it yourself job, or in making a quick dollar, providing sub-par services to unsuspecting end-users.

We have seen this occur across many industries from fake bomb detectors, to cheap and ineffective bug detectors in all price ranges.

It is essential that technical security operators understand the importance of looking past the marketing hype and dig deep into the practical aspects of the features and functionality offered, and perhaps, just as importantly, those that are missing, including the important specifications that many manufacturers simply fail to disclose for what should be obvious reasons, for the operator.

It is refreshing to speak to professional technical operators that understand this concept, and are abandoning ineffective and obsolete techniques and equipment that have not changed for more than 25 years in design concept, or targeted audience.

We welcome you to the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software community!

TSCM SIGINT RF SPECTRUM

Kestrel is an entirely new and very powerful RF spectrum analysis resource, combined with a modern deployment methodology, firmly based on today's moving target threat model, increasing the Probability of Detection (POD), with hightly evolved Waterfall Display (WFD) rendering, for analytical clarity, never before realized.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is competitively priced at just $3,495.00 CAD, and currently supports hardware options starting at just $1,375.00 CAD, minimizing any argument for procuring the innovative, award winning TSCM specific SDR application.

Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software | October 2017 Newsletter

The October 2017 edition of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software newsletter is now available for online viewing, and download in a PDF format.

In this edition, we address the importance of not contaminating the RF spectrum, or the local power grid during technical  inspections.

In particular, the requirement to provide continuous spectrum monitoring of both the ambient RF spectrum environment, and conduct detailed evaluations of the local power grid, are essential, given the many new devices utilizing the power grid at the consumer and commercial level.

SM200A KESTREL TSCM PAUL D TURNERIn this edition, we have also offered our initial observations and comments relating to the the new Signal Hound (SM200A) Spectrum Monitoring receiver soon to be released into the wild.

Our first impressions concluded that there is a lot of advanced technology and engineering packed into this amazingly compact Spectrum Monitoring receiver, that not only changes the game (again), but also throws out the rule book.

This is the same forward-thinking and innovation that has positioned the mighty Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, as an industry leading software for Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) and Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM, worldwide.

This receiver is a simply awesome in design with operation across a 20 GHz bandwidth, and a whopping 160 MHz of Real-Time IF Bandwidth

The search speed is also impressive at 1 THz / Sec across 20 GHz at 30 kHz RBW.

Signal Hound  (SM200A) Prototype | Europe Product Demonstrations

DSEI 2017 proved to be a very successful exhibition, and our on-going travel throughout Europe, with the Signal Hound (SM200A) prototype product demonstration, is generating significant interest in replacing obsolete spectrum analyzers and receivers, with the new Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, (64-Bit application) and the soon to be released, powerful Signal Hound (SM200A) Spectrum Monitoring receiver running from 100 kHz to 20 GHz with a 160 MHz (Real-Time) IF Bandwidth, and a blazing search speed of 1 THz at 30 kHz RBW, 160 GHz @ 10 kHz RBW, and 20 GHz @ 1 kHz RBW.

Kestrel TSCM | Signal Hound SM200A
The above image illustrates a 20 GHz ROI running at 18 FPS or 360 GHz per second at 20 kHz RBW, demonstrating Live View Analysis (LVA), and Positional Zoom Control (PZC) to display 1.6 GHz to 2.6 GHz | Click to see a full size image.

Modern threat model realities demand powerful new TSCM specific solutions that place the technical operator back in charge of the analytical process, and provide meaningful Probability of Intercept (POI) and honest Probability of Detection (POD) estimations, within the perspective of a real-world deployment environment.

Changing the methodology is essential, as this cannot be accomplished by hardware and software alone, and the traditional approach to TSCM, no longer meets an acceptable level of due-diligence.

London Terror Attack | DSEI 2017

Another trip to London (UK), and another cowardly terrorist attack on a commuter train south west of the city. Our team is safe and on high-alert for other potential incidents, while in country, which has simply become a part of our international travel protocol for Europe.

Although, it would appear that the device did not function as expected, more than 20 people were injured in the attack. The device failed to detonate high order, and resulting in a fire ball causes burns to an unknown number of passengers.

On a more positive note, our team, had another excellent day at DSEI 2017 with numerous new opportunities for the sale of the mighty Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software and the soon to be released Signal Hound (SM200A) which was demonstrated during the event.

After receiving the SM200A just the day prior to our departure to London, our Software Development Group (SDG) TM achieved a whopping 360 GHz / Second from 100 kHz to 20 GHz, at 20 kHz RBW, after just a few hours of integration of a Kestrel Support Profile (KSP) TM.

Signal Hound is to be congratulated on the development of, what is perhaps the most significant Software Defined Radio (SDR) hardware to enter the market, supporting TSCM, SIGINT, and Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM as a powerful cross- deployment resource.

It is encouraging to see the reaction of delegates and guests, when our Technical Security Specialist's (TSS) TM run through a live demonstration of the SM200A running against the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software.

Although, Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., has only had the hardware prototype for the few days leading up to the exhibition, our Software Development Group (SDG), has completed a significant part of the SDR receiver integration, specifically for DSEI 2017.

The SM200A and the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, sweeps at 1 THz / Sec at 30 kHz RBW, advancing the Probability of Intercept (POI) during operator assisted RF sweeps, unattended Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), and managed Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM.

Kestrel ® is the only operator centric, full featured SDR application on the market, that puts the technical operator back in charge of the collection and analytical process, with mission agnostic features and functionality, bringing the most powerful tools, for the least amount of money.

It is interesting that one company (not exhibiting), self described as the the competition, repeatedly attended our exhibit to inform our staff that they have a better, faster system, but were so insecure and apparently threatened, by the mighty Kestrel ® and the new SM200A prototype, that they felt it necessary to repeatedly try to intimidate our exhibit staff, while obviously, very defensive about our solution. When advised of export restrictions on some of our products, they indicated, they sell their products to anyone. All I can say, is I am glad that the Kestrel TSCM ®  Software and the Signal Hound SM200A products, are sold ethically, and in compliance with all export control regulations.

Kestrel - Leading TSCM Software

This is yet another reason not to buy foreign software and hardware solutions, in my opinion, when such entities, fail to be discriminating about the end-user, or destination country for which products are sold.

The national security apparatus in numerous countries, trust Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., with there unique requirements, and we will continue to be discriminating with respect to international sales of all products and professional services, without compromise.

Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software | Signal Hound SM200A | DSEI 2017

The new Signal Hound SM200A Spectrum Monitoring receiver has been the hit of the party during the first 2 days of the DSEI 2017 exhibition in London.

This amazing new SDR receiver is on display with the Kestrel TSCM Professional Software, and the SM200A has not only changed the game, but it has thrown out the rule book, sweeping 1 THz / second at 30 kHz RBW, significantly improving the Probability of Intercept (POI) during operator assisted RF sweeps, unattended Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), and managed Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM.

SM200A | Signal Hound

The SM200A is the new standard in Software Defined Radio (SDR) hardware, that will put an abrupt end to the "me too" competitive products that try to imitate specialized professional level TSCM, and Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM applications, and solutions.

If the new Signal Hound SM200A does not convince private sector and public sector technical operators that they are not seeing the RF spectrum environment the way it was meant to be seen, with their current equipment resources, I am afraid nothing ever will!

Professional technical operators are strongly encouraged to review the and compare the technical and operational advantages between competitive products.

Let Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., show you what you have been missing!

Kestrel ® is the only operator centric, full featured SDR application on the market, that puts the technical operator back in charge of the collection and analytical process, with mission agnostic features and functionality, bringing the most powerful tools, for the least amount of money.

LMR 400 | 50 OHM Antenna Cable | N (M) to SMA (M) | Now Available!

Looking for high quality, manufactured in the United States of America, RF antenna cable pre-configured in 25 foot and 50 foot lengths, terminated with N (M) to SMA (M) connectors.

We now stock low loss LMR 400 (50 Ohm) antenna cable, designed for Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring applications utilizing the KestrelPod I TM (Ceiling Mount) Ultra Wideband Surveillance Antenna with the BB60C Spectrum Analyzer.

The pre-configured cable lengths of 25 and 50 feet are ideal for  setting up remote Signal Hound BB60C Spectrum Analyzers and RF Recorder hardware and other receivers with an SMA connector.Remote Monitoring | LMR400 RF Antenna Cable

LMR 400 has an operating temperature range from -40 to + 85 degrees C and can be installed outdoors and well as indoor applications.

Please note that our Technical Research and Standards Group (TRSG) TM recommends that the maximum coaxial length for monitoring applications not exceed 50 feet (assuming low loss cable), and 25 feet, for standard antenna cable.

LMR 400 cable may be utilized beyond 50 feet due to the low loss properties, if required, however, this is not recommended for monitoring applications, unless absolutely necessary as a mission specific requirement. Ideally, we recommend that the receiver and antenna be co-located within 50 feet of the antenna.

The advantage of LMR 400, is that it is a comparatively light weight cable, considering it is close to 1/2 inch in diameter.

We offer the LMR 400 at an exceptional price point as a plug and play option for quick temporary of permanent installations.

25 Foot | N (M) to SMA (M) | $25.00 CAD

Signal Hound SM200A | Data Sheet

The long awaited for Signal Hound SM200A is alive!

This new high-speed receiver is pending full production release in the next few months, and will once again prove to be an industry disruptive product, particularly for TSCM, SIGINT, and Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM applications.

The Signal Hound SM200A has a search speed of 1 THz / Sec @ 30 kHz RBW, 160 GHz / Sec @ 10 kHz RBW, and 20 GHz / Sec @ 1 kHz RBW.

Kestrel TSCM Professional Software

Signal Hound SM200A | Data Information Sheet |

Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software | Specifications and Feature Guide |

Even when compared to the industry standard Signal Hound BB60C (9 kHz to 24 GHz) running at an amazing 24 GHz / Sec (4 FPS / 250 mSec), the SM200A is exponentially faster in every respect.

The 20 GHz bandwidth in combination with the fast sweep speed, and the advanced capability of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, mean unprecedented value, and enhanced capability beyond any current competitive product on the market.

Kestrel ® provides an industry disruptive and very unique approach to conducting TSCM, SIGINT, Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM, and hostile technology locates, at the facility level, or when deployed in the wild, facing an unknown complex RF spectrum environment.

The SM200A Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer and Monitoring Receiver will provide an industry wide disruptive generational shock wave, within a sensor based, TSCM, RSSM TM, and SIGINT environment.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software has continued to break new innovative ground since the inception of the software in early 2009, first based on the Signal Hound SA44B Spectrum Analyzer and Measuring Receiver when search speed was measured at 140 MHz / Sec with a 240 kHz real-time bandwidth, when our company saw an opportunity to advantage Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology, due to complex deployment requirements, and disappointment with existing equipment resources.

Do You Need Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software Training?

The answer is simply, yes!

Since the 1960's very little has changed in the methodology, approach, or the way most of the available equipment resources are designed, around obsolete spectrum analysis threat models.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software has continued to break new innovative ground since the inception of the software in early 2009, and is based on an entirely new moving target threat model, developed to meet corporate security, law-enforcement, government, and military applications, each of which has an entirely different focus and objectives at the end of the day.

Single box solutions, simply do not have the agility, scalability, or flexibility in advanced feature sets, to complete with mission specific Software Defined Hardware (SDR) in combination with industry leading, TSCM specific software, designed from the ground up, to meet and exceed today's threat environment, and be able to adapt to the unknown threats of tomorrow.

Kestrel ® is specifically engineered to put the technical operator back in control of the collection and analytical process, shattering obsolete methodology and techniques that most of the equipment manufacturers and unfortunately technical operators are still holding onto, in a era in which technology driven compromises cannot be detected, or identified with an outdated approach, except perhaps by luck.

Kestrel ® brings to the table many mission specific, first in its class features that are designed around a modern moving target threat model, as defined under the TSB2000 (Technical) Standard TM, modernizing the deployment approach, while significantly advancing the Probability of Detection (POD).

The Kestrel ® approach is firmly founded on an analytical threat model, and based on the understanding that you cannot analyze data that has not been recorded, or saved in a format to allow full operator assisted playback during post review and analysis.

Our Technical Research and Standards Group (TRSG) TM have now combined the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, with an optional advanced training package for the sale of 5 or more licenses, to ensure that training is available for the technical operators who will be responsible for the setup, collection, analysis, and maintenance of the software and hardware components.

Kestrel TSCM Training and Certification

Kestrel TSCM Professional Software | Recording and Storage

In a modern moving target threat model, it is essential to record all aspects of the ambient RF spectrum environment, for the purpose of real-time and post analytical analysis.

Equipment resources that do not provide the ability of to properly record the spectra, or provide powerful IQ samples for post analytical playback, or fail to facilitate long-term storage requirements, are essentially obsolete, within today's modern moving target threat model, and no longer meet an acceptable level of due-diligence.

Basic screen-shots and signal lists, are not an acceptable substitute for a detailed trace by trace recording and playback capability.

Likewise, the deployment of expensive, primary equipment resources that are not specifically designed for long-term operational deployment, in a dual or multiple receiver capacity, for a period of 30 days, 60 days, or even 90 days, is an unproductive exercise.

Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM requires that the technical operator implement a balanced approach that includes periodic physical sweeps, in combination with modern RSSM TM techniques, including 360 degree facility baseline analytics.

Attempting to deploy resources that are not suitable for the intended application significantly increases the operator's liability, and lowers the Probability of Detection (POD), placing the end-user at further risk of an undetected technical compromise.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, when combined with one, or more suitable Software Defined Radio (SDR) receivers is required to make an informed analysis, as to whether or not, any particular signal event is potentially hostile in nature.

This is very difficult to accomplish with a single primary equipment resource for the required or recommended extended deployment time.

It is essential that the technical operator maintain previous spectrum data plots in a playback capable format, from previous physical electronic sweeps, and other data, such as external reference plots, and IQ samples of significant events.

If you have questions about temporary or permanent in-place monitoring, give us a call to discuss your requirements and expectations.

It is important to get all the facts, before you make a decision to about the best equipment resources for your applications whether you are an end-user, or professional services provider.

Kestrel TSCM Professional Software | Kestrel 3D Energy Probe (KEP)

As many of you are likely aware, there are very limited options available when it comes to properly evaluating the power lines and other conductive elements that may contain intentional and unintentional radiation, in the form of conducted intelligence, or simply emitting as an unintentional radiator that may provide traffic analysis opportunities for the attacker.

Many of you have been asking for a low cost, user friendly solution to accomplish advanced power line evaluation and qualification, of existing power line isolation and filtering, including the validation of harmonic filters often installed on modern electrical infrastructure.

Our Technical Research and Standards Group (TSRG) TM took up the challenge, and have now developed a unique power line analysis module for use with the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software to accomplish advanced capture and analysis of the power infrastructure.

Power line monitoring can be established on a 24 / 7 / 365 basis, as a sensor input along side the spectrum monitoring capability, to establish powerful analytical intelligence, from Over-the-Air (OTA) RF, Power Line Carrier (PLC), and Broadband Power Line (BPL) threats.

The Kestrel ® 3D Energy Probe (KEP) TM permits direct testing of virtually any conductive surface, including power lines, telephone network, Analog, Digital, VoIP and infrastructure based cabling for HVAC, and most other conductive surfaces for real-time, direct analytical coupling to the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software via the mission specific, Software Defined Radio (SDR) hardware such as the Signal Hound (BB60C) Spectrum Analyzer and RF Recorder.

The Kestrel ® 3D Energy Probe (KEP) TM is both an inductive and direct couple, Near-Field energy probe, designed to extract signal level emissions for analysis.

Power Line Carrier (PLC) and Broadband Power Line (BPL) profiles have been developed and are included for use at the software level, to facilitate capture, playback, storage, and real-time or post capture analysis.

The Kestrel 3D ® Energy Probe (KEP) TM also contains a unique inductive, non-contact detection component, for use, when it is not desirable, or perhaps not safe to connect the probe directly to an electrical source.

Our initial production release is scheduled for early mid-August 2017.

Advance orders are now being accepted for the initial production release, please contact our office for details and information.

Facts Vs Myths | The Reality About SDR AdvantagesKestrel TSCM Professional Software | Signal Honud SDR

The question of portability seems to be the only remaining argument against the powerful, low cost, modern sweep tools, which have been dominating the industry for some time worldwide, as new technology leads the way to powerful advancements in combating economic espionage.

To dispel somewhat misleading and seemingly uninformed information, which I can only assume is designed to discourage technical operators from venturing into the fascinating world of Software-Defined Radio (SDR), I would like to highlight the following factual information.

First, I would like to point out a number of exciting key advantages, and modern deployment techniques that highlight, not only the realized key operational advantages and new business opportunities, but also bring promise of new revenue streams that can be realized, only with low cost SDR solutions.

A single primary equipment resource can be replaced with Software Defined Radio (SDR) system at a ratio of 3 to 1 or even 5 to 1 leading the way for scalability and flexibility in deployment of multiple systems, supporting new and recurring revenue streams, in a modern moving target threat model.

Fact | The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, running on a 13 inch tablet computer, with the highest screen resolution on the market, referred to as the KestrelPrey III TM | Advanced RF Locator, is equipped with a powerful Signal Hound BB60C (9 kHz to 6 GHz) Spectrum Analyzer and RF Recorder, running at 24 GHz per second, or   6 GHz, 4 times every second, and is attached to the back of the tablet computer via Velcro, equipped with a unique near-field table top, Omni-Directional antenna that can instantly convert to a pistol-grip, dual polarized  Log-Periodic Antenna (LPA) for signal localization, is unsurpassed for typical operator assisted sweeps, collection, capture, long-term managed Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM, and is decidedly, an all-in-one solution that can be utilized as a walk-about direction-finder, interference hunter, and easily reconfigured for a wide variety of mission specific applications at all known and developing threat levels.

Fact | There is no need or requirement for a secondary broadband detector, as the technical operator can immediately transition from tabletop collection to walk-about direction-finding, all on a 2.25 pound, high resolution touch screen enabled tablet computer, with receiver attached. The advantages are clear! Software Defined Radio (SDR) hardware is powerful and simple to operate. There is also no need to carry around a large laptop, tuner, multiple antennas, antenna switches, or external A/D digitizers, as some would have you believe. Frankly, SDR technology can do it all, from operator assisted TSCM, to advanced direction-finding, interference analysis, and so-called in-place monitoring, referred to as Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM, as defined under the TSB 2000 (Technical) Standard TM. There is no requirement to drag around an AC\DC convertor, and there is no need to setup, and transition, to a secondary equipment resource, and there is no requirement to carry a significantly heavier spectrum analyzer around  the target facility. Simply utilize the KestrelPrey III TM to locate the emitter, without the need to capture multiple comparative traces.

Fact | Today's fast bursting signals must be located swiftly and accurately, with many of the bursts appearing at different amplitudes, across the same location, and cannot always be correlated or associated with distance from the emitter, making trace comparative confusing, difficult or impossible, as a higher level burst will draw the operator to a false conclusion with respect to the location of the device. It is far better for an experienced technical operator to utilize continuous real-time signal levels to locate the emitter, even if the signal is bursting. Room level trace comparative is time consuming and simply not necessary, or recommended when dealing with a small to medium size target area, and with modern signal types that exhibit complex peak amplitude bursts and varying characteristics. Also, technologies such as Zigbee, Bluetooth, DECT 6.0, Wi-Fi and other types of signals found in a modern work environment, will be emanating from 360 degrees around the target area, adjacent too the target area, above and below the target area, and again, trace comparative can prove to be misleading, and very time consuming. In a world of fantasy and wishful thinking, we can all go back to 1970's when analog signals ruled the earth, or as a professional technical operator, you can venture into a modern world of powerful SDR technology.

Fact | The Kestrel Log-Periodic (KLP) TM, directional antenna, allows the technical operator to locate the    emitter quickly and precisely, in sweep mode, demodulation mode, utilizing the FFT demodulation visualizer, or   a real-time IF Broadband (IFB) TM mode, with all the display, sweep, capture, locate, and analyze tools, right at your finger tips. The advantage of being able to record IQ samples, provides powerful analytical and evidentiary data. All spectrum data is written to the local or network storage drive, and is available for post analysis and review, as well as long-term storage.

Fact | Cost is another extremely powerful consideration that the technical operator must consider. Using the KestrelPrey III TM | Advanced RF Locator, as an example, at a cost of $11,500.00 CAD ($8,639.95 USD) as of June 22, 2017 based on the Bank of Canada USD exchange rate. We encourage you to consider the 3 to 1 cost factor, against other competitive equipment resources that are available on the market, and do a direct cost correlation along with the key features and advantages of each product being considered. It must also be remembered that adding a second receiver to an existing system, adds only the cost of the receiver, allowing scalability as requirements change.

Fact | Consider that the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software supports Multiple Receiver Operation (MRO) TM, and is Dual Receiver Operator (DRO) TM ready, under a single Kestrel ® software license, across multiple computers, as may be required. This means that you can generate new and recurring revenue streams, and significantly enhance the Probability of Detection (POD) for the end-user, by establishing powerful new business strategies, in Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM as part of a modern, moving target threat model, simply by adding low cost SDR receivers to an existing system. Deploying expensive Spectrum Analyzers that are perhaps a primary equipment resource for your business, when multiple locations must be monitored, and other client's must be provided with professional services, is simply not practical, or cost effective. SDR technology, not only leads the way to a more sophisticated TSCM approach, it is replacing obsolete business models and concepts worldwide.

Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software | What You Need to Know!

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is decidedly developed around a modern moving target threat model, to include operator assisted, Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), unattended, Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM, and another industry first, live real-time multiple location streaming with powerful features, such as our Autonomous Measurement and Collection Sub-System (AMCS) TM architecture.

Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., is a recognized leader in providing cost effective, highly scalable, advanced Software Defined Radio (SDR) for TSCM and a host of SIGINT applications, including Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM worldwide.

Kestrel - Leading TSCM Software

Kestrel TSCM ® is a powerful mission critical component that adapts well to a rapidly changing deployment environment, created by sudden world events, such as barricaded hostage scenarios, terrorism, targeted state-sponsored economic espionage, and other criminal activities.

Our ability to bring real-world, operator focused solutions to both the private and public sector, has resulted in a new methodology and technical approach, to deal head on, with seemingly complex problems without viable solutions.

It has been said that, "there is no problem, unless there is a solution", which ironically best describes the success of the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software approach by solving real-world problems for which there were no apparent solutions.

Our policy is to think outside the box and do the impossible, utilizing our vast networked experience, and find solutions to complex problems at the technical operator level and essentially place the technical operator back in control of the analytical process.

Kestrel is therefore, always considered to be a work in progress, as new ground-breaking features and functionality are just around the corner, pending release.

We have watched during the past 8 years as many of the major industry players, have craftily rebranded their business models to compete with the innovative, low-cost, Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, and adapting our concepts and wording to their own marketing.

Now, with the introduction of Kestrel-net TM, Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., is now playing in their ponds, with powerful SDR resources suitable for deployment at the national security apparatus level globally.

There are three (3) real-world components to mastering the ambient RF spectrum environment:

Powerful, equipment resources that adapt to a modern moving target threat model. A ladder and flashlight simply do not get the job done...

A technical operator that understands the immense value of on-going, real-world training and certification at the operator level...

A willingness to explore and embrace a new methodology, technology, and recognize that professional level resources and strategies are required...

Under the TSB 2000 (Technical) Standard TM, the above principles are core elements in the success of developing and deploying, methods and techniques that significantly increase the Probability of Detection (POD) across the widest scope of experience.

Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software | IF Broadband (IFB) Feature

Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., is pleased to announce a powerful new software development milestone, pending official release.

Our latest feature, includes a new Intermediate Frequency (IF) runtime mode feature, referred to as, the IF Broadband (IFB) TM mode, and permits the technical operator to create an independent runtime environment as a spectrum band tab, and deployed in a real-time IFBW (IFB) up to the maximum bandwidth of the the SDR hardware utilized.

This advanced feature is not part of the Demodulation Visualizer control group as might be expected, but rather, is displayed in real-time on the standard user-interface.

This method of implementation brings significant new capability for professional level deployment of the software, with all of the standard display and navigational controls available in IFB mode.

For example, full integration and interaction with the Dynamic Alert Annunciator (DAA) TM, and the Automatic Export Control (AEC) TM | OPT AEC provide real-time targeted triggering at very high speeds with an Ambient Noise Floor (ANF) that is 20 to 30 dBm lower than realized when running a full band sweep.

The most significant milestone, is the ability to deploy triggered IQ capture, complete spectra and waterfall data captured and written to storage, prior to the appearance of a Signal of Interest (SOI). That is right!Kestrel TSCM Professional Software

The mighty Kestrel ®, has a keen eye, photographic memory, and perhaps just a little physic ability.

The ability to deploy our software in a Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM role, and capture targeted signal level spectra, including triggered IQ for post analysis, or hand-off to an IQ Analyzer, is fully supported.

RF direction finding, for the discrete Signals of Interest (SOI) is fully supported in the IFB mode, making emitter location quick and easy, minimizing the requirement for for additional equipment resources such as a broadband detector.

The ability to visualize the full IF bandwidth (IFBW) of the SDR hardware, without the need to transition to another equipment resource is essential in a modern moving target threat model.

The current support level of our IFB feature is 160 MHz of real-time, IF Bandwidth (IFBW), which is SDR hardware dependent.

The Signal Hound BB60C has 27 MHz of real-time IFBW, and the Tektronix RSA306B has 40 MHz IFBW.

The ThinkRF R5500 has 100 MHz IFBW (Standard), and 160 MHz IFBW (Optional).

The Signal Hound SM200A (pending official release) will support 160 MHz IFBW as a standard feature. Contact our office for additional information about this product.

The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software is an advanced resource that is designed from the ground upward to meet the exacting demands of corporate security, government, law-enforcement, national security apparatus, and military end-users worldwide.

Autonomous Measurement Collection System (AMCS) | Sub-System

Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., is pleased to confirm that our Technical Research and Standards Group (TRSG) TM has developed a new and powerful disruptive Software Defined Radio (SDR) capability deep within the coding architecture of the the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software.

Autonomous Measurement Collection System (AMCS) TM | Component within the Kestrel TSCM ®  Professional Software allows the application to operate “headless” in an embedded computing environment.

This is perhaps described as one of the most powerful features ever developed for professional development requirements and is configured from a Kestrel Configuration Script (KCS) TM file located within the application installation directory.

The Kestrel ® application will create all the project files and necessary configuration, to be able to immediately begin runtime collection activity.

Client applications may be connected to the Kestrel ® software via a TCP/IP socket interface connection, to obtain the extracted data stream, and basic configuration information from the Kestrel ® application.

Limited control is also offered to client applications.

The AMCS comprises of a powerful sub-system within the Kestrel ® application.

This sub-system is enabled when Kestrel is started with a valid Activation Security Key (ASK) TM that contains the “AMCS” capability.

On initial connection of a receiver to Kestrel ® , a license key request will be generated in the form of a Challenge and Response (CRC) TM code, and presented to the technical operator.

When the CRC code is provided to the Technical Support (TSG) of Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., this will be converted into an Activation Security Key (ASK) TM license enabling the AMCS capability.

This Activation Security Key (ASK) TM may then be installed into Kestrel ® , enabling that instance of Kestrel ® on that machine and receiver, to operate with the AMCS capability.

Only one (1) receiver on a subject machine requires an AMCS key to enable AMCS operation across all receivers operating with that instance of Kestrel ® .

The AMCS sub-system allows Kestrel ® to be operated in a stand-alone fashion.

A configuration file allows autonomous collection to be set up and initiated on application start.

Client applications can then connect to Kestrel ® and obtain a continuous data feed for the specified bands or channels of interest.

Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) | Setting up a kestrel ® instance and receiver at a remote location, permits a continuous monitoring data feed, can be obtained at a remote location. Kestrel ® , operating in this mode is suitable for operation on an embedded PC platform, providing a low-cost and very powerful remote monitoring solution.

Data Feed Integration | The remote feed configuration, utilizes an open "xml" style format allowing easy integration with additional data feeds to provide a richer data stream, and synthesizing multiple sources into a single data feed.

Alarm and Alerting Integration | The integration of the AMCS capabilities with the unique alarm and alerting architecture within Kestrel ® , provides the capability of obtaining RSSM TM data, when specific events of interest occur within the ambient RF spectrum environment, thereby reducing the data transmission load and providing advanced actionable intelligence relating to spectral activity.

Distributed (Managed) Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM | Integrating multiple instances of Kestrel ® with AMCS and integrating their independent data feeds, powerful RSSM TM solutions can be easily implemented at the facility level, or across national and international geographical locations.

Black Box Integration | The ability to utilize RF spectra as a sensory input to an existing black box system, or build powerful analytical solutions can be realized when the AMCS data feed is combined with other sensory inputs, including GPS, speed, altitude, temperature, RF interference, and other required parameters.

Kestrel ® Log-Periodic (KLP) Antenna Kit

Our Technical Research and Standards Group (TRSG) is very pleased to announce that we have now released a new antenna product, designed specifically for the TSCM role.

The Kestrel ® Log Periodic (KLP) antenna kit is yet another example of a Canadian designed and manufactured product, now available under the Kestrel ® brand.

Our ability to change the dynamics of the industry and bring innovative, new low cost products to the TSCM industry, is once again realized with this announcement.

Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., is strongly committed to advancing the art and science of technical security, through continuous product innovation, industry participation, and are known for implementing a powerful standards based approach to a moving target threat model.

The typical equipment life cycle has significantly decreased from 20 years ago, or even 10 years ago, as equipment manufacturers were not keeping pace with the proliferation of threat technology entering the market place from basic consumer electronics to sophisticated espionage tools.

Many products, simply were modernized from a packaging perspective, with the same obsolete detection electronics under the hood. Unfortunately, is is still happening today with many of the foreign manufactured products.

High cost equipment resources that fail to meet, in many cases, even the basic expected level of design and feature structure have flooded the foreign market place and offer little in the way of innovation, or have features that provide a meaningful impact on the technical security industry.

The KLP kit is an example of dedicated research, extensive testing, careful design and engineering, a powerful multi-tasking capability, travel friendliness, and lower cost.

In-fact, our KLP kit, is 3 to 4 times lower in cost than a number of competitive products that are not even designed for Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), offer little or no technical training, have extremely poor user manuals, and fail to integrate best practice concepts into the overall design.

Our motto is build it simple, with a full feature design, make it operator centric, travel and budget friendly.

Kestrel Log periodic Antenna Kit | TSCM | SIGINT

The KLP antenna kit is just $795.00 CAD and contains a number of custom engineered components that are packed in a light weight, travel friendly soft pouch that is multi-mission ready, for use during operator assisted TSCM assignments, or for Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM).

The contents of the kit include all of the above components that are designed to provide scalability, flexibility and a wide  range of deployment options. Our durable soft pouch provides additional space for other small antennas, cables and connectors.

Our user-manual provides product set-up and familiarization instructions and as expected provides technical information about the workings of a Log Periodic Antenna (PLA) to gain the most benefit from practical deployment.

The system can be deployed as a stationary  RF spectrum analysis antenna, and quickly transition to a walk-about directional antenna for signal localization, minimizing the requirement for a separate broadband receiver and offer the the technical operator the same signal and reference levels on a familiar display without loss of signal acquisition during the transition.

The advantage of transitioning from a collection mission to a direction finding mission on the same equipment resource and user-interface, takes the complexity out of the picture and returns operational control and efficiency to the technical operator.

The heart of our KLP antenna system is a custom manufactured, proprietary | Quick Connect Mechanism (QCM) | and combination pistol grip and tripod for maximum deployment flexibility.

We are excited to have added a new addition to he KLP kit, which includes a new antenna under the Kestrel ® brand.

The | Kestrel Vision Antenna (KVA) | can be deployed for walk-about direction finding or continuous collection for low profile assignments.

The KVA antenna is provided in the KLP kit as a standard included item.

The KPL kit is an ideal companion for use with the KestrelPrey III | Advanced RF Locator, powered by the award winning, industry leading, Kestrel ® TSCM Professional Software.

The KLP antenna kit can be utilized with any spectrum analyzer or receiver and is terminated with quad shielded low noise cable and a strain relief SMA (M) 50 ohm connector.

The mighty Kestrel ® TSCM Professional Software has been delivering innovation since 2009 with worldwide deployment in 28 countries for the TSCM industry, corporate, government, law-enforcement, military, and the security apparatus.

3-Day | Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software | Technical Operator Certification | This is perhaps the most essential basic training for anyone currently utilizing the Kestrel ® software, or might be anticipating procurement in the future. This program instructs participants based on a new moving target threat model, leaving the competition in the, "that's so 1970's" mind-set that many operators still embrace, believing they only require a flashlight and ladder to conduct their inspections. Software defined Radio (SDR) technology has radically disrupted the old, out-date and obsolete threat model, essentially left over from the cold-war era. There are significant new offensive RF methods and techniques being utilized by individuals and state sponsored players, conducting illegal economic espionage, and it is essential that technical operators place greater importance on identifying and validating the presence of all RF signatures present within the target area over time. Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM is the only means available to do this effectively. The Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software has proven to be an industry disruptive technology, with a fresh approach that focuses on a modernized global threat model, and the reality of Probability of Detection (POD) by the numbers, as part of a new approach to Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), supplemented with Remote Spectrum Surveillance and Monitoring (RSSM) TM .

Time Differential Signal Analysis (TDSA)

We have been diligently testing the pre-release TDSA feature this past week at our Research and Development Training Centre (RDTC) in Alberta.

During one (1) of our many pre-release experiments, we established a runtime Trace Limit Alarm of 200,000 traces, or (approximately 13 hours of collection) from 9 kHz to 6 GHz at 20 kHz RBW.

After collection terminated on trace limit alarm, the TDSA filter was applied from 0000 hours in 30 minute TDSA time blocks, clearly identifying a curious 200 kHz signal event at 3.1926 GHz, within a defined number of time blocks from | 0100 - 0130 | 0300 - 0330 | 0500 - 0530 | 0700 - 0730 | 0900 - 0930 | 1100 - 1130 |.

The result is precisely what our Time Differential Signal Analysis (TDSA) milestone was designed and engineered to achieve, by adding a new capability to the Kestrel Analytics TM methodology.

The pattern is clearly identifiable as a burst transmission that appeared a regular intervals every 2 hours between 0100 and 1100 hours, at | 0100 | 0300 | 0500 | 0700 | 0900 | 1100 | within a 30 minute TDSA window.

The technique of reapplying the TDSA Filter can be utilized to further refine the signal event burst time line for even greater time line accuracy.

The 30 minute | PERIOD | or TDSA Filter of 30 minutes, dynamically captures all peak data within the applied filter and builds a TDSA comparative trace.

The above TDSA plot image represents a 30 minute TDSA filter, utilized to generate a trace level comparative, based on time, rather than location.

Selecting specific TDSA ICONS allows the operator to analyze a single location, extended runtime session, against operator defined time blocks and generate trace level comparative trace data.

The above TDSA plot image represents a clear pattern of bursts that only appear every two (2) hours as indicated by technical operator enabled | TDSA ICONS | representing the Signal of Interest (SOI).

2017 Professional Development Summary | A Year of Opportunity!

2016 was a very busy year for PDTG Inc., with assignments, across Canada, France, United Kingdom, United states of America, Belgium, Sweden, and Singapore in support of corporate, government, law-enforcement, military, and national security apparatus globally.

2016 was also extremely busy for sales and support of the the Kestrel TSCM ® Professional Software, now flying high in 27 countries worldwide.

We ended our news and information briefings for 2016, stressing the importance of the requirement, recognition and understanding of the necessity to respond to a new, and rapidly changing global threat model, and will begin 2017 with the same important message to technical operators.

The threat model, has dramatically changed over the past 10 years, but never as rapidly as it has during the past couple of years, with virtually everything wireless hitting the market at the consumer level.

The Radio Frequency (RF) phase of a TSCM electronically assisted sweep has become significantly more complex and requires a new approach methodology, to minimize or mitigate the risk and liability of conducting Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) assignments, from both the end-users and technical operators perspective.

Findings and non-findings all need to be validated against the vast unknowns inherent in providing Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) assignments.

Professional development is the means and starting point for those that recognize the necessity of keeping current with the latest concepts, techniques, and a moving target threat model that can radically determine the outcome of any technical security inspection.

TSCM | ISM 900 BAND
It is essential to continuously monitor the on-going changes in the spectrum band allocation process to better understand what signal types to expect across the Range of Interest (ROI). The various ISM Band allocations are complex elements of the spectrum, with a wide range of signal types and uses that often overlap and share the same spectrum space. Join us for the next Technical Analyst Certification (TAC) program to learn more about the Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum.
There are three (3) primary training paths to consider at Professional Development TSCM Group Inc., depending on each participants background and knowledge.

The one constant is that no matter your skill level, there is always something new to learn in an industry where virtually every aspect of what we do changes on a daily basis, and last years training is simply last years training.

Developing new skill sets and deployment methodology is an essential element in achieving and maintaining technical competence, something PDTG Inc., takes very seriously in our training offerings.
