TSCM Operational Standard (OS-PPG)

The Technical Security Branch (TSB) has developed a proprietary Operational Standard - Policy and Procedure Guideline (OS-PPG) based on more than twenty-eight (28) years experience in providing professional level TSCM services.

Our Operational Standard - Policy and Procedure Guideline (OS-PPG) is one of the most up-to-date Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) resources available.

This administrative and technical manual is the primary training, Technical Security Specialist (TSS) certification, and operational policy and procedure of the Technical Security Branch (TSB) and is continuously updated monthly.

Our OS-PPG (TM) is the only operational standard (TSB 2000) in existence and sets the minimum standards for equipment resources, personnel training and experience, and operational methods and techniques.

Word of Warning

It is an unfortunate reality that there is an entire industry of fly-by-night marketing types selling a wide range of TSCM equipment and services to the public and corporations, who get caught up in the “Spy” phenomena.

Whether consciously or by negligence, these fly-by-night operators provide so-called TSCM inspections of limited or no value what so ever.

These services do little more than further degrade the overall technical security posture of the target facility, and instill a dangerous false sense of security in the mind of the client relying on their sub par services.

Sadly, many of these sub-par operators are associated with normally reputable security and investigation agencies and lack the specialized equipment required, certification training, operational experience and ethical standards expected by the end-user client. Before you contract TSCM related services you should determine the experience and reputation of the actual TSCM operator and obtain a comprehensive list of the actual equipment resources that will be utilized during the inspection.

TSB Statement of Intent

Reputable Technical Security Specialist’s (TSS) will take the time to explain the Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) process, common misconceptions, equipment utilized, search methods and techniques, and TSB capabilities and limitations.

This helps educate the client and remove the cloak and dagger paranoia element - The premise of educating the client is a primary goal of the Technical Security Branch (TSB).

The TSB closely monitors all available espionage research, technique development, testing mythology, and the evaluation and procurement of TSCM equipment.

This practice ensures the greatest level of integration, standardization, and compatibility in conducting TSCM inspections.
